About António Nobre

António Nobre was born in Portugal in 1993. He studied art in high school and continued developing his skills as a self-taught artist. In 2014, he graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon with a degree in Multimedia Art.

His work centers on human representation, exploring both the physical dimension of the body—as an object that occupies space—and its presence. A duality between public and private spheres, akin to the anonymity of a passerby on the street. The body, as a physical boundary with the outside world, holds within it a vast, intimate universe.

It is this veil, the artist hopes, that emerges in his work: elevating the physical body into a whole cosmos and, through the small gestures, forms, and movements, a faint glimpse of a soul (for lack of a better word). A kind of spoken silence.
